Did you know that more than 80% of what a baby learns, he or she learns through vision? That’s why babies can figure out those child safety locks when the parents struggle to open them. Sighted babies watch everything we do. Babies with vision loss must figure out other ways to learn about those locks. They also must learn how to roll over and reach for toys when they can’t see them.

VIPS will host its Santa Party on Saturday the 18th for its families. The party supplements the in-home intervention and helps the VIPS kids socialize. It’s also a lot of fun. Visit our website at www.vips.org if you would like to support this event and the other programs we offer our families.

VIPS recently received a grant from the Lexington Clinic Foundation to purchase an electric paper cutter and laminator. This equipment allows the VIPS teachers to individualize each child’s learning experience.
